The Western Australian Residential Battery Scheme is live for 2026 — here's exactly how much you get, who qualifies, and how to stack it with the federal rebate.
What is the WA Battery Rebate?
The Western Australian Residential Battery Scheme gives households up to $7,500 off the upfront cost of a home battery when installed with a new or existing rooftop solar system. Combined with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries program you can save well over $10,000.
How much can you claim?
- Synergy customers (Perth / South West): up to $5,000
- Horizon Power customers (regional WA): up to $7,500
- Additional low-interest loan: up to $10,000 interest-free through Plenti
Who qualifies?
- Own your home (or have owner consent)
- Property is connected to Synergy or Horizon Power
- Battery is 5–100 kWh usable capacity
- Installed by a CEC-accredited installer using approved hardware
- Household income below $210,000 (higher rebate tier under $100,000)
Stacking with the federal rebate
From July 2025 the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program discounts the battery a further ~30% via Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). A typical 13.5 kWh Powerwall 3 install now nets around:
- List price: $15,900
- Federal STC discount: −$4,600
- WA rebate (Synergy): −$5,000
- Out of pocket: ~$6,300
